"The Newton" is an innovative residential building in Kop Zuidas, Amsterdam, designed by diederendirrix. The project comprises 101 apartments and features a central split that brings daylight and nature into the interior. The façade consists of structured red bricks of sorting No. 62, laid alternately to create interesting textures. A special detail is the decorative masonry, where bricks are set diagonally in relief. Inside, semi-public roof gardens and stepped terraces provide a green oasis. Sustainable energy is ensured through solar panels and thermal energy storage.
