Architecture with Precision, Material Depth and Clarity

This single-family house in Hamburg is defined by proportion, material quality and precise detailing. The monolithic building volume with its articulated brick façade and Rheinzink standing seam roof follows a clear geometric order and deliberately avoids decorative gestures.

Narrow vertical openings structure the façades and create a controlled balance between openness and privacy. Perforated brickwork elements add depth and texture while remaining fully integrated into the architectural composition.

Towards the garden, large-scale glazing opens the living spaces across the full height of the gable. Carefully positioned openings and generous ceiling heights create differentiated natural light conditions throughout the day while establishing strong visual connections to the surrounding landscape.

The material palette continues consistently throughout the interior. Dark timber flooring, exposed brick surfaces and reduced transitions between materials define the atmosphere of the spaces. A centrally positioned fireplace structures the open-plan living area without compromising spatial continuity.

The standing seam roof by Rheinzink reinforces the sculptural character of the building. Roof edges, junctions and material transitions were carefully reduced to strengthen the clarity of the overall volume.

Exterior lighting by Louis Poulsen complements the architecture with restrained presence and emphasizes the depth and texture of the brick façades during the evening hours.

Particular attention was given to the execution of all construction details. Junctions between brickwork, window profiles, roof connections and outdoor surfaces were developed with precision to maintain the architectural clarity down to the smallest scale.

The result is a residence defined by material integrity, spatial quality and long-term durability.
