Villa “House on Heinsbergstraße” in Düsseldorf
With the urban villa on Heinsbergstraße, we present an outstanding example of classical architecture and high-quality materiality in the heart of Düsseldorf-Niederkassel.
Our new reference “House on Heinsbergstraße” is now featured on our website. Developed by Ralf Schmitz and designed by Sebastian Treese Architekten, the building demonstrates how contemporary architecture can respond to and further develop the structural patterns of a historic neighborhood.
The distinctive stepped gable, the clearly articulated façade grid, and the precise proportions define the overall volume. The exterior is constructed using a blue-brown Wittmunder clinker brick, Sortierung 211 in normal format, laid in an alternating bond that reveals both the smooth facing sides and the more textured Fußseiten. The resulting mix of grain patterns, firing traces, and mineral inclusions creates a façade surface of calm depth, showcasing the craftsmanship inherent in the material.
With only four residential units, the building remains deliberately modest in scale, integrating naturally into the fine-grained, historically shaped fabric of Alt-Niederkassel. The project illustrates how classical architectural elements, clear lines, and high-quality materials can establish a timeless presence within an urban context.
